The Boilermakers (0-1) dropped game one of the weekend to No. 8 Texas A&M (2-0) falling 10-2 in five innings.
Moriah Polar led the offensive with a triple, while Jordyn Ramos doubled. The Boilers also picked up a pair of singles from Julia Gossett, and Delaney Reefe.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Aggies struck first, coming in the bottom of the first inning, scoring three runs on three hits.
In the bottom of the second inning, Klochack came to the mound to relieve the starter, Bailey, but not before the Aggies added on two more. Freshman Camper then made her debut on the mound and finished out the inning, earning a fly out and her first collegiate strikeout.
In the bottom of the third, the Aggies increased the lead to a commanding 10-0, but the Boilers fought back in the top of the fourth. Polar began the offense with the first Purdue hit of the game, a triple to left field, before a sac-fly from Alivia Meeks scored her from third. Julia Gossett added another single before closing out the fourth.
Delaney Reefe earned her first hit as a Boilermaker in the top of the fifth, with an infield single to third. A fielder’s choice from Kylie Franks exchanged runners, before a double to right field from Jordyn Ramos added another run to the board. Yet, Texas A&M was able to earn the final out to close out the game 10-2.
UP NEXT
The Boilers will take on Villanova for the second game of the tournament, on Friday, Feb. 7 at 12:30 p.m. ET, before facing No. 20 Baylor at 5:30 p.m. ET that evening.
