Comets Dominate Elwood in 100-55 Victory

Eastern High School’s swim team dominated in the pool Tuesday night, defeating Elwood 100-55 in a decisive victory powered by multiple first-place finishes.

The Comets set the pace early with their 200-yard medley relay team of Makenzie Appleton, Kaylee Singleton, Abby Vawter and Haven Gunderson securing the opening win.

Several Eastern swimmers claimed individual victories, including Raygan McClain in the 200-yard individual medley and Ava Kantz, who won both the 50 and 500 freestyle events. Jocelyn Rogers topped the diving competition, while Appleton and Singleton added wins in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke, respectively.

The Comets also swept the remaining relay events. The team of Audrey Higgins, Appleton, Gunderson and Kantz won the 200 freestyle relay, while Higgins, Gunderson, McClain and Kantz captured the 400 freestyle relay.

Eastern looks to maintain its momentum in its next meet against conference opponents Delphi and Carroll.
