Comets Fall Short Against Northfield Despite Milestone Performance

The Eastern Basketball Comets battled with fierce defensive intensity but ultimately dropped a hard-fought contest to Northfield 41-34, with the visitors securing the game’s final points from the free-throw line.

Junior guard Colton Lindsay made history, becoming the 7th Eastern Comet and 38th basketball player in Howard County to eclipse 1,000 career points. Lindsay finished with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals, reaching the 1,005-point milestone.

Senior Perry Kochensparger played all 32 minutes, contributing 9 rebounds, 1 blocked shot, and 4 points while demonstrating consistent effort on both ends of the court.

Senior point guard Kyan Hannah matched Kochensparger’s playing time, delivering a strong defensive performance with 4 steals, 3 rebounds, 2 points, and just 1 turnover.

Off the bench, freshman Tristan Armogum scored 9 points in 24 minutes, while sophomore Abe Edwards grabbed 7 rebounds in limited 11-minute action. Junior Ke’Mari Butler added 3 points and 3 rebounds in 12 minutes, and senior Will Brown provided interior defensive pressure during his 18-minute appearance.

Despite the loss, the Comets’ defensive tenacity and Lindsay’s milestone performance offered bright spots in a challenging matchup against Northfield’s stingy defense.
