Nine different players scored as the Greenfield-Central Cougars rolled to a decisive 40-point victory over the Anderson Indians on Tuesday night.
Chaney Brown and Madison Sonsini led the balanced scoring attack with 16 points apiece, while Izzy Silcox added 14 points. Brooklyn McConnell also reached double figures with 10 points.
Brown dominated the glass with a game-high 14 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. Sonsini grabbed 7 rebounds, while McConnell and Silcox each collected 5 boards.
The Cougars showcased their defensive prowess and unselfish play, recording 21 assists, 17 deflections, and 13 steals as a team.
Other scorers for the Cougars included Addi Herrin (7 points), Juliann Junes (5), Ainsley Robinson (5), Kysney Hasty (3), and Paislee Brown (2).
The Cougars return to action Friday night at New Castle, with tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m. as part of a girls/boys doubleheader.
