The Eastern Comets delivered a commanding performance Tuesday night, cruising to a 100-55 victory over the Elwood Panthers in a high-energy meet.
The Comets set the tone early, with the 200-yard medley relay team of Makenzie Appleton, Kaylee Singleton, Abby Vawter, and Haven Gunderson securing a decisive first-place finish.
Individual standouts included Raygan McClain, who triumphed in the 200-yard IM; Ava Kantz, who excelled in the 50 and 500 freestyle; Jocelyn Rogers in diving; Makenzie Appleton in the 100 backstroke; and Kaylee Singleton in the 100 breaststroke.
The Comets also swept the relays, with victories in the 200 free relay (Audrey Higgins, Makenzie Appleton, Haven Gunderson, and Ava Kantz) and the 400 free relay (Audrey Higgins, Haven Gunderson, Raygan McClain, and Ava Kantz).
With the decisive win, the Comets continue to showcase their depth and determination as a team to watch this season. Next, they’ll face conference rivals Delphi and Carroll as they look to extend their streak.
