Eastern Girls Swim Team Shows Grit in Loss to Lewis Cass

The Eastern Comets girls swim team returned to competition Tuesday after the holiday break, battling hard but falling to the Lewis Cass Kings, 102-74.

Lewis Cass set the tone early with a decisive victory in the 200-yard medley relay, using their depth to secure critical second- and third-place finishes throughout the meet. Despite the loss, the Lady Comets showcased determination and delivered standout performances.

Eastern’s first-place finishes included Ava Kantz in the 200 and 100 Free, Jocelyn Rogers in diving, Raygan McClain in the 500 Free, and the 400 Free Relay team of Haven Gunderson, Raygan McClain, Abby Vawter, and Ava Kantz.

“I’m proud of the way the team fought tonight,” said the Comets’ coach, Sarah Nibert. “We were up against a very deep squad in Lewis Cass, but our swimmers didn’t back down.”

The Lady Comets continue to build and develop their team, showing promise for the rest of the season.
