Garcia Repeats as 50 Freestyle Champion, Leads Manchester to 4th

Rachel Garcia defended her title in the 50 freestyle, tying for first place to lead the Manchester girls’ swim team to a fourth-place finish at the Three Rivers Conference Championships. Garcia also earned a second-place finish in the 100 freestyle, capping off a strong individual performance.

Sophie Cumberland contributed two podium finishes for the Squires, placing second in the 200 IM and third in the 100 backstroke. Additional individual podium appearances included Noelle Walt with a 6th place finish in the 50 freestyle and Kadence Fox placing 5th in the 100 breaststroke.

Manchester’s relays also delivered solid results:

  • The 200 medley relay team of Sophie Cumberland, Rachel Garcia, Noelle Walt, and Averi Thomas finished 3rd.
  • The 200 freestyle relay team of Averi Thomas, Sophie Anglin, Kadence Fox, and Trinity Bradley placed 5th.
  • The 400 freestyle relay team of Garcia, Walt, Anglin, and Cumberland earned 2nd place.

The Squires will host Fort Wayne Canterbury next Wednesday in their final meet before sectional competition.
