The Gary SouthShore RailCats have added outfielder Baron Radcliff to their roster for the 2025 season, bringing in a former fifth-round MLB draft pick with professional experience in both affiliated and independent leagues.
Radcliff, 25, split his 2024 campaign between the Reading Fightin Phils, the Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Washington Wild Things of the Frontier League. He appeared in 45 games with Reading and an additional 12 games with Washington.
A native of Michigan, Radcliff was originally selected in the fifth round of the 2020 MLB Amateur Draft by the Phillies after three seasons at Georgia Tech. During his four years in the Phillies organization, Radcliff showcased his power, hitting 47 home runs and driving in 123 runs while also stealing 11 bases.
Radcliff was first drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 40th round of the 2017 MLB Draft but opted to attend Georgia Tech, where he hit .236 with 19 home runs and 73 RBIs over three seasons.
With Radcliff’s signing, the RailCats add a powerful bat and valuable experience to their roster as they prepare for the 2025 American Association season.
