Braylon Mullins scored 37 points and led Greenfield Central to a dominant 79-46 victory over Indianapolis Shortridge on Friday night, overcoming an early deficit to secure the win.
After trailing 21-19 in the first quarter, the Cougars dominated the final three periods, outscoring Shortridge 60-25. Mullins, a Mr. Basketball candidate and UCONN commit, shot 15-of-21 from the field and added 3 rebounds, 2 steals, an assist and 4 blocks.
Mikey Johnson contributed 18 points, while Dallas Freeman scored 9 points. Boston Willard filled the stat sheet with 7 assists, 5 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Greenfield Central (12-2) shot 54% from the field and 70% from the free-throw line. The Cougars’ defense was equally impressive, holding Shortridge to 37% shooting and forcing 22 turnovers.
The Cougars will host Shelbyville on Saturday in a Hoosier Heritage Conference matchup, followed by a home game against Pendleton Heights next Friday and a road game at Muncie Central on Saturday night.
