The Greenfield Central Cougars came up short on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Connersville Lady Spartans in a hard-fought game.
The Cougars showcased a balanced offensive attack, led by Brooklyn McConnell, Madison Sonsini, and Izzy Silcox, who each scored 13 points. Chaney Brown contributed five points, while Josie White and Ainsley Robinson added three apiece.
Greenfield Central out-rebounded Connersville 27-22, with Sonsini and Silcox leading the effort on the boards with six rebounds each. Brown pulled down five, Juliann Jones added four, and White contributed three.
Defensively, the Cougars were active with 19 deflections, 13 steals, and 11 assists as a team, showing their hustle and intensity throughout the game.
Greenfield Central will look to bounce back on Tuesday evening when they travel to Perry Meridian. The junior varsity game tips off at 6 p.m., with the varsity game to follow.
