The Union City Lady Indians came up short in their second game of the holiday tournament, falling 36-31 to the Adams Central Jets on Wednesday. Despite a strong defensive effort and solid performances from key players, the Indians were unable to capitalize on late-game opportunities, particularly from the free-throw line.
Gabby Ordonez led the Indians with nine points and four assists, while Kerns contributed a double-double effort with eight points and 10 rebounds. Ordonez’s consistent play throughout the tournament earned her a spot on the All-Tournament team.
The Lady Indians will look to regroup on Friday when they face the Randolph Southern Rebels in the County Tournament at Winchester High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. as Union City aims to bounce back in a key matchup.
