The JV Lady Rocks overcame a slow start to edge out a 47-42 victory on Wednesday night. After falling behind early, a series of three-pointers kept the Rocks within striking distance in the first half, narrowing the gap to just five points. A dominant third quarter propelled the Rocks to a 10-point lead, which they held onto for the win.
Paisley Crawford led the charge with 17 points, sparking the early run that shifted momentum. Eri Davis added 13 points, creating crucial second-chance opportunities throughout the game. Lizzy Foster, Jolie Miller, Adley Russell, and Olivia Kondrat also contributed to the scoring effort.
In varsity action on Tuesday night, the Lady Rocks battled back from a slow start to defeat Bishop Chatard. Trailing 22-18 at halftime, Westfield came alive in the second half, fueled by a stifling defensive performance in the third quarter. Makayla Hatcher scored 8 of her 14 points during the pivotal quarter, helping the Rocks take the lead.
Sam Price dominated the fourth quarter, scoring 8 of her game-high 22 points in the final frame to secure the victory. Lindsey Van Dyke rounded out the Rocks’ double-digit scorers with 10 points. Westfield poured in 14 points in the third and 16 in the fourth to seal the win.
The Varsity Lady Rocks return to action Saturday at 1 p.m. against Hamilton Heights.
