LaPorte Boys Swimming Edges Warsaw 93-92 in Thrilling Finish

The LaPorte Slicers boys swimming and diving team pulled off a dramatic 93-92 victory over Warsaw on Tuesday, clinching the meet in the final race with a decisive win in the 400 Freestyle Relay.

The Slicers opened strong, but Warsaw gained a significant lead after the diving events. LaPorte mounted a determined comeback, ultimately sealing the victory in a nail-biting finish.

Event Winners for LaPorte:

  • 200 Medley Relay: Roman Garay (backstroke), Abbas Hakim (breaststroke), Otto Wildhart (butterfly), and Chaise Adrian (freestyle) with a season-best time.
  • 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle: Chaise Adrian.
  • 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly: Otto Wildhart.
  • 100 Backstroke: Roman Garay, achieving a lifetime personal record. Garay also recorded a lifetime PR in the 100 Freestyle.
  • 100 Breaststroke: Abbas Hakim.
  • 400 Freestyle Relay: Chaise Adrian, Chase Childers, James Quadlin, and Roman Garay.

Notable Performances:

  • Malachi Talbot broke into the 26-second range in the 50 Freestyle.
  • Otto Wildhart recorded an impressive 21.37 split in the 200 Freestyle Relay.
  • Milo Jimenez shaved 16.58 seconds off his 500 Freestyle time, showcasing significant improvement.

With the win, the Slicers improved to 11-2 on the season. They will host Chesterton on Thursday as they look to continue their strong campaign.
