The LaPorte Slicers girls swimming and diving team delivered a commanding performance in a triple dual meet Thursday, defeating the Hobart Brickies 113-65 and the Merrillville Pirates 132-31. The victories showcased the team’s depth, with multiple first-place finishes and numerous personal bests.
Top Finishers for LaPorte:
•200 Medley Relay: Cali Hatala, Noor Hakim, Megan Zolvinski, and Lily Siford won.
•200 Freestyle: Isabel Barron and Cali Hatala went 1-2.
•100 Freestyle: Barron and Hatala again went 1-2.
•200 Individual Medley: Noor Hakim and Katelyn Peterson claimed the top two spots, with Hakim also winning the 100 Breaststroke.
•50 Freestyle: Lily Siford and Megan Zolvinski went 1-2.
•100 Butterfly: Zolvinski and Lyla Bannwart went 1-2.
•500 Freestyle: Regan Hughes secured first place.
•200 Freestyle Relay: Siford, Peterson, Zolvinski, and Barron took first.
•400 Freestyle Relay: Barron, Peterson, Hatala, and Hakim won, with the B relay team of Sarah Peterson, Liz Luna, Regan Hughes, and Madi Griffin finishing second.
The Slicers celebrated standout individual achievements, including personal records from Hughes (100 split), Luna (50 Free split), and Griffin (100 Breaststroke).
With the wins, LaPorte improves to 13-7 on the season. They will travel to Valparaiso on Saturday to compete in the DAC Championship Meet.
