LaPorte Girls Swimming and Diving Falls to Warsaw, 97-83

The LaPorte Slicers girls swimming and diving team battled hard in a closely contested meet but fell to Warsaw 97-83 on Tuesday. The lead changed hands multiple times before a relay mishap left Warsaw in control for good. Despite the loss, the Slicers posted several personal records and standout performances.

Event Winners for LaPorte:

  • 200 Medley Relay: Cali Hatala (backstroke), Noor Hakim (breaststroke), Megan Zolvinski (butterfly), and Lily Siford (freestyle). Zolvinski achieved a personal record in her 50 Fly split.
  • 200 Freestyle: Isabel Barron
  • 200 Individual Medley: Cali Hatala
  • 100 Butterfly: Megan Zolvinski with a season-best time
  • 500 Freestyle: Regan Hughes with a season-best time of 6:01.49
  • 400 Freestyle Relay: Isabel Barron, Katelyn Peterson, Cali Hatala, and Noor Hakim. Hakim achieved a lifetime personal record during her leg of the relay.

The Slicers, now 11-5 on the season, will look to rebound as they host Chesterton on Thursday.
