LaPorte’s girls swim team performed strongly in the first round of the Sectional Championship meet at Hobart, positioning themselves well for Saturday’s finals with three relay and five individual A Finals appearances.
The 200 Medley Relay of Cali Hatala, Noor Hakim, Megan Zolvinski, and Lily Siford finished third with a season-best time of 1:58.87. Notable individual performances included Noor Hakim’s lifetime best in the 200 Individual Medley, Isabel Barron’s A Finals in 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly, and Megan Zolvinski’s 100 Fly A Finals appearance.
The team also had strong relay showings, with the 200 Freestyle Relay placing third and the 400 Freestyle Relay finishing fourth with a season-best time.
Several swimmers secured B Consolation Finals spots, including Katelyn Peterson, Cali Hatala, Lyla Bannwart, Regan Hughes, and Liz Luna.
