The Marion Giants Swim Team dropped matches to Muncie Burris on Thursday at Marion High School, with the girls losing 75-59 and boys falling 102-66.
Despite the team loss, Marion secured several top performances. Emma Miller led the girls, winning the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. Miller also anchored the first-place 400-yard freestyle relay team alongside Jethe Paduga, Elly Campanero, and Mary Herrington.
On the boys’ side, Josiah Womack claimed first place in the 200-yard freestyle and 50-yard freestyle. Mike Herrington won the 100-yard backstroke, while Ethan Fain took first in diving.
Notable second-place finishes included Gracie Dixon in the girls’ 200-yard individual medley, Mary Herrington in the 100-yard backstroke, and the girls’ and boys’ medley and freestyle relay teams.
The Marion Giants will host Scecina on Saturday at 10:00 AM, with senior recognition for the Class of 2025 planned during the meet.
