Notre Dame’s Olivia Miles Named USBWA National Player of the Week

Notre Dame point guard Olivia Miles continues to earn accolades, being named one of five USBWA National Players of the Week following her dominant performances. This recognition comes just after Miles received ACC Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.

Miles delivered her sixth career triple-double on Sunday in a 95-54 win over Virginia, posting 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists. The latter mark ties her career high. The All-American now has three triple-doubles this season, tying Maryland’s Alyssa Thomas for the most in ACC history, and is the first ACC player to record back-to-back triple-doubles. She logged her previous triple-double against Loyola Maryland on December 22, tallying 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Additionally, Miles joins Jackie Young as the only Notre Dame players to record a triple-double in ACC play, with both achieving the feat against Virginia.

Sunday’s performance also marked a significant career milestone for Miles. With her ninth rebound, she surpassed 500 career boards, becoming just the third player in Notre Dame history to record at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, and 500 assists. She joins an elite group that includes Skylar Diggins and Lindsay Allen.

This season, Miles leads the ACC in assists with 7.2 per game and remains the NCAA’s active leader in career assists per game at 6.8.

The No. 3 Irish, who have played five of their last six games at home, will return to the road this Sunday to face No. 17 North Carolina. The matchup is set for 1 p.m. on ESPN.
