The Peru Tigers secured a hard-fought 46-36 victory over the Southwood Knights in a Three Rivers Conference matchup Thursday night, extending their winning streak to five games.
The Tigers leaned on solid defense throughout the contest, holding Southwood to just four points in the decisive fourth quarter. Despite turnovers that kept the first half close, Peru managed a 23-19 lead at halftime. Southwood edged the Tigers 13-11 in the third quarter, but Peru’s strong finish in the final period sealed the victory.
Addison Robbins led the Tigers offensively with 11 points, while Jacey Boswell contributed 10. Alivia Ross and Sydney Azbell each added 9 points, Lucy Sensel had 6, and Kyannah Correll rounded out the scoring with 1 point.
The Tigers, now 9-9 overall and 2-5 in TRC play, return to action Tuesday at Tig-Arena for a rescheduled TRC game against the Northfield Lady Norse. The JV contest, featuring two quarters, tips off at 6:15 p.m., with varsity to follow.
