Despite posting a season-high team score of 96.0, the La Porte Slicers fell to host Valparaiso (111.375) in girls gymnastics action Tuesday night.
Evie Travis led the Slicers with a fourth-place all-around finish (35.025), highlighted by a second-place showing on beam (9.475). Travis also placed fifth on floor (8.65), fifth on bars (8.2), and sixth on vault (8.7).
Kate Doty contributed a sixth-place all-around performance (32.7), scoring 8.575 on both vault and floor. Genny Witulski (28.05) and Jules Schadt (28.0) rounded out the scoring for La Porte.
The Slicers return to action Thursday at Portage.
