The Greenfield-Central Cougars secured a solid victory over the New Castle Trojans on Friday night, powered by standout performances from Madison Sonsini and Chaney Brown.
Sonsini dominated on both ends of the court, recording a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. She also added 3 assists and 3 steals in a complete performance. Brown complemented her efforts with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals, helping to propel the Cougars to the win.
Brooklyn McConnell contributed 9 points to the offense, while Izzy Silcox made her presence felt on the boards, grabbing 7 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists.
The Cougars will return to action on Tuesday night, hosting Muncie Central. The junior varsity game begins at 6 p.m., with the varsity matchup to follow.
