Third Quarter Hinders Ravens in Loss to Lions

Anderson University women’s basketball team (9-8, 6-5) fell to Mount St. Joseph (12-6, 7-4) by a score of 75-62 during Saturday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup in Cincinnati.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Lions dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Ravens 26-9, shooting 57.1% (12-21) from the field and holding the Ravens to 21.4% (3-of-14)
  • In the other three quarters, Anderson outscored Mount St. Joseph 53-49
  • Mount St. Joseph turned 19 Anderson turnovers into 22 points, while Anderson turned 9 Lion turnovers into 14 points.
  • The Lions shot 44.3% (31-of-70) from the field, while the Ravens hit 39.0% (23-of-59).
  • Anderson knocked down 7-of-24 (29.2%) from beyond the arc compared to Mount St. Joseph’s 3-of-11 (27.3%).
  • At the free-throw line, the Ravens converted 9-of-14 (64.3%), while the Lions made 10-of-16 (62.5%).
