The Peru Tigers couldn’t overcome a hot start from Maconaquah, falling 64-43 in a Three Rivers Conference game at Tig-Arena on Friday night. The Braves came out firing, hitting five three-pointers in the first quarter to race out to a 23-7 lead. They continued their offensive onslaught in the second quarter, pushing their advantage to 40-17 by halftime.
Despite showing more fight in the second half, the Tigers couldn’t make up ground as Maconaquah maintained control to secure the win.
Kyannah Correll led the Tigers offensively with 13 points, followed by Addison Robbins with nine points. Alivia Ross and Sydney Azbell each added six points, while Jacey Boswell chipped in five. Lucy Sensel and Amariya Jackson rounded out the scoring with two points apiece.
The loss drops the Tigers to 4-9 on the season and 1-5 in TRC play. They will look to rebound as they continue conference competition in the new year.
