Warriors Sweep Argos Behind Jake Riley’s Milestone Performance

The North Miami Warriors found their stride Thursday night, securing victories in both JV and varsity contests against Argos Community Jr.-Sr. High School.

The JV squad overcame a slow offensive start, leading 11-5 at halftime thanks to a strong defensive effort. Adjustments at the break sparked a third-quarter surge, helping the Warriors build a 20-point lead. They maintained control in the fourth, snapping a three-game losing streak with a 37-22 win.

The varsity team also aimed to bounce back after recent struggles. A competitive first half saw the Warriors hold a single-digit lead over the Dragons at halftime. However, a dominant third quarter extended the lead to 15 points. Argos mounted a fierce comeback in the final period, cutting the deficit to three. Clutch free throws down the stretch helped the Warriors secure a 67-63 victory.

Senior Jake Riley delivered a historic performance, scoring a career-high 43 points and surpassing the 1,000-point milestone in his varsity career. His effort was pivotal in lifting the Warriors to victory.

Next up, the Warriors will host North Judson on Saturday evening, seeking to improve to 4-2 in conference play.
