The Westfield High School varsity gymnastics team opened its season on January 14 with a second-place finish at a quad meet against Morristown, Kokomo, and Roncalli, earning a final team score of 98.025.
Senior Isa Galan delivered a strong start to the season, placing fourth in the all-around with a score of 33. Sophomore Avery Mason also contributed notably, scoring 8.35 on floor to secure fifth place.
On vault, junior Madie Doran claimed first place with an impressive score of 8.75/9.0, while Isa Galan followed closely with an 8.65, earning second place. The meet also marked the debut of three freshmen, as well as senior Layla Ryan’s first performance on beam.
“It was a phenomenal first meet, and we are so proud of the team,” a representative said.
Westfield will look to build on this momentum in its upcoming competitions.
